Part-time Healthy Families Practitioner, Waltham Forest

Fixed term contract, initially to 31 December 2026 | Part-time (3/4 days per week) | Hybrid working
Salary: £27,093 per annum,  (actual pro-rata salary £16,256.12 for 3 days/£21,674.82 for 4 days), plus up to 6% matched pension contribution

Make a difference as a Healthy Families Practitioner

Are you an experienced and detail-oriented Healthy Families Practitioner who’s ready to support families in Waltham Forest? 

Join HENRY, a national charity passionate about giving babies and young children a healthy, happy start in life.

We’re looking for a highly skilled Healthy Families Practitioner to work with HENRY’s Waltham Forest team to deliver HENRY programmes, drop-in sessions and workshops face to face and online in the Waltham Forest Borough. 

Working alongside parents and carers, you will support them to build their knowledge and confidence to create the conditions for wider lifestyle change within the family.

What you'll be doing

  • Reach and engage diverse families
  • Deliver HENRY programmes and family support services to families
  • Train and support staff working with children and families
  • Collect data to measure impact of services and drive improvement

What we’re looking for

  • Experience of working in a community setting with groups and individuals
  • Experience of working with children and parents
  • Experience of delivering support within a person-centred and partnership approach
  • Experience of working with disadvantaged groups and families from diverse backgrounds
  • Empathetic and non-judgemental approach, skilled at providing information and support using a partnership approach
  • Excellent interpersonal skills - able to build respectful and sensitive relationships with families and multi-agency partners

What we offer

  • Salary: £27,093 per annum (actual pro-rata salary £16,256 for 3 days/£21,674 for 4 days)

Please note, we want our practitioners to thrive and to support this aim we take training very seriously.  The successful candidate will need to be available to undertake paid training on the following days: 5th and 6th November.  This training may be undertaken before the official start date.
