Healthy Start Mentors

Working Together for a Healthy Start is a volunteer-led project funded by the National Lottery operating across Leeds and Sheffield . As a volunteer Mentor you will deliver our Healthy Families programme on a 1-to-1 basis to support parents and carers with children aged 0-5, who are worried about their child’s weight or family lifestyle.

Mentors spend around an hour a week for 8 weeks supporting a family through the programme. Volunteers receive five free training sessions, a handbook, a Mentor toolkit and family toolkits as well as on-going support and supervision. We ask that you support at least two families after training.
